Nigerian born America based artiste Judith Opara Mazagwu popularly known as Afrocandy has been the object of controversy in the media recently. Every gossip blog and newspapers including social media sites had her in the spotlight. It has really been afrocandy this, afrocandy that. Her offence? The daring woman who is trully endowed beyond all reasonable doubt made a "porn" movie (please she does not like the name porn! she describes herself as Actress/Artist, Writer, Producer, Mom. Afrocandy is a Nigerian actress/Artist/Song & Script writer/Model who has become a woman of many talents.) called "DESTRUCTIVE INSTINCT." The star's label (She is the CEO of Invisible Twins Productions LLC based in America) released the trailer of  the movie destructive instinct 3&4 which immediately went viral and reactions started pouring in.

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY DOWNLOAD VIDEOS FROM YOUTUBE AND OTHER EMBEDDED VIDEOS

Youtube has so many videos and while i type this post, more are being added. In fact by the time you read this post, hundreds if not thousands of new videos will have been added. While you may enjoy watching it straight online, you may also want to download/save it so that you can watch it later or show to someone else. The cost of going to the internet every time you want to watch your favourite video is therefore eliminated especially in a country like Nigeria where internet data subscription  is very expensive. Furthermore, with  the slow speed of most internet services, watching movies online can become unbearably frustrating as the video will buffer now and every other minute. There are various softwares that claim to do  the job of downloading videos from youtube such as: youtube video downloader, youtube hd video downloader, xilisoft youtube video converter, xilisoft youtube video downloader, etc

I have tried using a couple of them and out of experience i want to say the best way of downloading videos from Youtube is using internet download manager IDM (i personally use veresion 6.15). You can download all the flash embedded videos from almost any site with a click of a button. Yea, the flash videos are literally a click away.

After installing IDM, a "Download This Video" button pops up whenever you are watching a video anywhere in cyberspace (shown in the picture below).

Just click on the button to start downloading clips. It's as simple as that; you do not have to separately launch Internet Download Manager. What's more, you can choose to download a clip at any point during the video, and the scene will be captured from the start. The download will proceed in the background even if you pause or stop watching. And you can download more than one video at the same time. Another interesting thing about using IDM to download youtube videos is that it gives you multiple formats for you to choose your preferred choice as illustrated in the second picture below. Another thing i will like to say here is that since the videos can come as flv and 3gp which are not natively supported by windows media player, you should have another player like vlc media player. I particularly like vlc media player and the latest version comes with a feature that enables you to double the volume of your computer i.e raise it to 200%.

JAMB COMPUTER BASED TEST TO HOLD BETWEEN 18TH MAY AND 1ST JUNE, 2012/2013 JAMB RESULT RELEASED

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

The board, however, withheld 12,110 results for possible disciplinary action.The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, announced this at a news conference on the release of the results in Bwari, FCT, on Friday.

The registrar said after thorough processing of answer scripts of the candidates who sat for the examination, the board discovered some forms of malpractice perpetuated during the conduct of the examination.

“However, the results of 68,309 candidates from various centres are undergoing further screening to ascertain the culpability of 12,110 candidates’ results.“

A total of 1,629,102 candidates applied to sit for the Paper Pencil Test (PPT), while 15,008 candidates applied for the Dual Based Test, bringing the number of candidates  to 1,644,110.

“The general performance of candidates in this year’s examination shows remarkable improvement compared with last year.

“Ten candidates scored 300 marks and above, while 127,017 candidates scored between 1-159 marks.

 “About 40,692 candidates’ results were invalid due to either multiple shading or no shading at all.  After processing all the results, the board also discovered that about 47,974 candidates were absent.“

The registrar assured the candidates that their results could be accessed on the JAMB Website: www.myjambresult.com using their registration numbers.

He said about 40 centres would be screened to ascertain their culpability and warned the public against Internet fraudsters.

“Information reaching JAMB shows Internet fraudsters are already telling candidates that their results could be upgraded in one form or the other. “

This is pure deceit, the public and candidates are hereby advised to disregard these fraudsters since they do not have access to our data.

“Let me once again state that candidates are allowed to change their choices of institutions and courses once only, this change has to be effected within two weeks from today. “

Ojerinde said the Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to take place from May 18 to June 1 and appealed to candidates to reprint their e-registration slips afresh to further ascertain their CBT centres.

4 When will porting become available on the CDMA and Fixed

line Networks?

NCC has adopted a phased approach to the launch of Mobile

Number Portability service in Nigeria. The process to port to

CDMA networks will begin as soon as the GSM porting process is

completed and launched.

5 What type of phone number can be ported?

Any mobile number on the GSM network can be ported

irrespective of the type of service it is been used for (e.g. voice,

data, GPS tracking etc).

6 Where do I have to go to port my number?

Customers should go to the customer care office, retail shop or

outlet of their chosen new service provider and meet with the

authorized sales person to request to port their number.

(Porting can only be undertaken by visiting the customer care

office, retail shop or authorised dealer of your chosen new service

provider and is not available by telephone, online or other

electronic means). Please do not terminate your service with your

existing service provider before initiating porting with the new

service provider.

7 What time of day will the porting service be available by the

operator?

The porting service will be available when your new service

operator's store/ outlet/ sales point is open to customers.

8 What do I have to do to port?

You will be required to complete a Port Request Form. You will

also be asked to send a text message with the word “PORT” to a

short code “3232”. Assistance will be made available if required.

9 I'm a pre‐paid customer and I have some credit left ‐ can I
take this with me?
“Pre‐paid” customers won't be able to take outstanding credit with
them, and should use it up before they switch service providers.
10 What happens to SMS that I send or receive whilst porting?
Messages which have been sent to the customer prior to porting,
but not delivered, may be lost
11 Will I be able to take my voicemails, SMS and service settings
to my new operator?
You will lose your old voicemail, SMS, MMS and ancillary services,
and will need to set these up again with your new service provider.
